Atomat has recently developed the new
IMDŽ an integrated marking device that can be installed
in the new models of the AT820 CNC mill notching machine.
This device will represent a tremendous
development in the roll identification marking. It is
basically a milling tool installed in the working head
of the AT820 E CNC machine. By using the same control
of the machine, it will be possible to mark the rolls
quickly and accurately with every possible letter, number
or symbol. Benefit expected by using IMDŽ instead of
the ordinary E.D.M. (Electro Discharge Machining) marking
systems are:
- Automatic roll
marking after the notching operation in one single
cycle, without handling the rolls and move them to
the EDM marking machine.
- The same easy
visual interface will be available for programming
both notching and marking.
- Marks and notches
will be both stored in your PC memory.
- Consistent reduction
in tool inventory and capital costs: all the letters,
numbers and symbols can be generated with the same
tool.
- Milling system
and computerised control of the operation without
manual centring operation will grant a consistent
high quality final product.
- Both for shape
and dept.
- No risks of Carbide
breakage because of EDM process since with the new
IMDŽ the marking operation is performed by mechanical
tool.
Low costs. Costs for marking could be highly reduced,
in fact :
The new IMDŽ is in general a lower investment
when compared with normal EDM marking devices Tool cost
is generally much lower in particular when compared
with electrodes for Electro Discharge Machines. Time
saving and operator cost saving: the marking time will
be tremendously reduced both because roll handling will
be eliminated and because the IMDŽ is much faster than
normal EDM marking systems.
